Lion Doug’s corner:

FEBRUARY 05th, new members night. Everyone is encouraged to bring a guest or potential new member with them. It would be appreciated that ALL members attend and show support for this event. Ideas are also welcome on how to bring the spark back into the membership. Lion John C has said he will call some members that were absent and encourage them to attend the next meeting. Lion John C shall now be know as Lion Guido.

 

 


Ongoing Events:

 

65 Roses

Lion Glen reports on 65 roses and that tickets are going well as the last draw sold out. The  next draw is to be held in February

 

Shopping Spree

Lion Dennis reports the draw will be held on May 24 with a total of 5000 tickets available. The tickets will be sold for one dollar each. Some discussion was held on the pricing of the tickets and is under review by Dennis.

 

Playhouse

Lion Dennis reported a meeting was held at the hall with 13 clubs attending. Denny reported there will be 1000 tickets available at $10 per ticket. Winchester Lions will look after the money and set up an account at the bank. Lion you know WHO will look after the money. Lion Dwayne requested the draw be at the hospital on July 5th at 3:00 so pictures could be taken since he was busy most other times of the day. It was also discussed that individual pictures be taken for future photo opportunities that we miss. On the draw date second prize of $1000 and third prize of $500 will be awarded. The house can be displayed at the corner of Main st and be stored at Denis’s shop. (Has anyone noticed how many different ways you can spell Dennis’s name?) Any help with the moving of the house and storing will be appreciated and needed.

 


Hells Angel’s raffle:

Lion Mike the biker Kerkhof thought we should look into a raffle similar to the Beaton/Bond Head in Cookstown. The raffle is for a Harley and does not come  with colors.

 

Effective Speaking:

As we ‘s know us guys are hosting the effective speaking contest this year. Lion Mike will look inta booking the hight school. Lion Mike is also requirementing some help me outers for that day. The event will be ended by 1:00 in the day. We will be coordinating the food with the Mountain , Chesterville lions and the LEO’s.

 

Seniors dinner:

Lion Al reported 101 out for the dinner, it turned out to be a very successful night both for the seniors and the lions. Lion Al mentioned that a card of thanks should be sent to the ladies of the evening that donated their time in the kitchen.

 

Lions Seniors Dinner:

The complimentary seniors dinner will be held on March 20th. Lion Al felt we should not work around the seniors time table but rather have the dinner on the 20th and let them reschedule their events.

 

Arena Booth:

Lion Dwayne reported all went well at the Boxing day tournament and looked to have a very profitable day. Lion Dwayne reports the only two paid shifts were necessary on that day.

 

LEO’s:

Lion Dwayne reports that membership is at 14 members.

 

Bingo:

Lion Mike (the one that likes Harleys) reported 42 people at the last bingo with NO jack pot given. Mike reported we have a new license valid until December 31 2003. As per the license we will get all our Nevada tickets from Service Club Promotions.  A thank you letter was requested for Annie Parsons for her contribution of the Afghan.
